UPU member from 1 April 1881.
No evidence has been found to show that any of the postal stationery sent to the UPU had any form of specimen or equivalent protection.
This is confirmed by Ross Towle: 'As far as I know Chile did not send any examples to the UPU with any additional specimen handstamps, perforated specimen, or equivalent notation. The records that I have seen in the Archivo Nacional in Santiago have all been requests to send examples from the stock at hand.'
Ross A. Towle for information provided.
