Member of the UPU from 1 October 1891 as a British Colony of Australasia; independent member as a British Dominion from 1 October 1907.
Postage stamps of New Zealand were distributed by the UPU without any form of specimen protection it is therefore to be expected that postal stationery was also distributed in normal unused condition.
This is confirmed by Allan Berry: 'I have been into my literature, and it is clear that New Zealand sent only undefaced mint postal stationery material for U.P.U. purposes.'
Allan P. Berry for information provided.
